The elderly have earned a special place in our community, and the Iberia Council on Aging recognizes this fact.

We recognize and celebrate our elderly citizens. That is why we tend to their needs, assist them in living, support them, advocate for them and work every day to enhance their lives.

Home Delivered Meals

Delivery of balanced hot meals to a limited number of homebound, frail or disabled elderly.

Congregate Meals

Serving hot, balanced meals in a community settings. These meals satisfy social and nutritional needs.

Homemaker / Housekeeping

Provides light housekeeping to those seniors unable to care for their home themselves.

Family Caregiver's Support

Offers relief to the caregiver responsible for the constant care of an adult 60 years or older.

Recreation

Provides individual and group activities that promote social interaction & well-being.

Transportation

Transport participants to COA related activities and nutrition site.

Outreach

Identifies isolated and hard to reach individuals in order to assist them in gaining access to needed services.

Information & Assistance

Provides information on opportunities and services, which meet the individual's needs through advice, counseling, referral, and follow up.

Nutrition Education

Education to promote better health by providing accurate and culturally sensitive nutrition, physical fitness or health (as it relates to nutrition) information and instruction.

Telephoning

Contact individuals by phone on a regular basis to determine physical status, to provide comfort and care.

Visiting

Visits in the home of elderly providing comfort, encouragement, listening and fellowship.

Wellness

Activities designed to support and/or improve the older person's mental and physical wellbeing.

Utility Assistance

Determines a client's need for assistance and provides financial assistance.

Material Aid

Issue assistive devices, e.g. walkers, wheelchairs, fans, heaters, depending on availability.

Medical Alert

Provides Acadian on Call alert buttons at a discounted rate.

Farmer's Market Voucher

Assist qualified seniors with application for fresh fruit and vegetables
